Outline (in English)

Course Outline:
Students come to understand the importance of lesson planning by reviewing the actual conditions of junior-high and high-school students’ awareness, thinking, and academic ability, as well as trends in recent research on these topics. They create good learning instruction plans and materials, with effective use of information devices and equipment. They improve their teaching methods through mock classes, and also by learning trends in Japanese language education.

Learning Objectives:
The objective of this course, “Teaching Method (2)”, is to understand and learn further the basic education theories of the curriculum guidelines of Japanese Language, based on "Teaching Method (1)”. Students will acquire the ability to create an effective instruction plan tailored for each specific class. Also, they are expected to enhance their abilities further by teaching mock classes several times throughout the course.

Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom:
Students will be expected to prepare for and have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Study time will be more than four hours for a class.

Grading Criteria/Policy:
Final grades will be calculated according to the following elements: in-class reports(50%), in-class presentation as mock classes(30%), report and term-end report (20%).
