Outline (in English)

Course Outline:
Students will be required to acquire knowledge about the subjects of Japanese Language based on the Ministry of Education's Course of Study. This knowledge includes the goals and contents, the whole curriculum structure, points of teaching, and learning evaluations. Students also need to research the teaching materials based on academic studies such as Japanese language, Japanese literature, and education.

Learning Objectives:
The objective of this course, “Teaching Method (1)”, is to understand and learn the basic structure of the curriculum guidelines of Japanese Language for junior-high and high schools; namely, goals, contents, curriculum structure and special notes for the subject. Students will be required to acquire fundamental knowledge about the curriculum structure and the knowhow to construct guidance plans based on the Course of Study.

Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom:
Students will be expected to prepare for each class and complete the required assignments after each class. Study time outside class will be more than four hours for each class.

Grading Criteria/Policy:
Final grades will be calculated according to the following elements: in-class report (50%), in-class presentation reflecting teaching material studies (30%), and term-end report (20%).
