Outline (in English)

Course Outline: What are media and what is editing? Based on these two questions, students will learn practically about our relationship with the media, as well as the state of the media business today. The course is designed as a seminar, using a variety of tools to have each student not only think, but also practice. In addition, as an active editor, I will provide specific examples of recent media topics as needed. The purpose of this workshop is to find out the questions each student has about how to handle “information,” which is inevitable in our information-oriented society.
Learning Objectives: Through a program that combines classroom lectures and practical workshops, students will gain an understanding of the characteristics of media and editing, and acquire the skills to deal with them with creative intent.
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: There will be workshops within the lectures and hands-on assignments. Students will have time to work in the lectures, but may be asked to work outside of the lectures to prepare presentations of their work.
Grading Criteria/Policy: Course evaluation will consist of 70% for assignments in the lecture and 30% for submitted reaction papers. In addition, students’ participation in classes will be taken into account and evaluated comprehensively.
