Outline (in English)

The aim of this course is to acquire an understanding of Japanese thought and philosophy through reading "An Inquiry into the Good" by Kitaro Nishida. By the end of this course, students should be able to fully grasp the feature of Japanese thought and culture.
Student will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class. Your study time will be more than five hours for a class.
Grading will be decided based on Short reports 45%, term-end reports 55%.
