Outline (in English)

<Course outline>
The aim of this course is to help students acquire an overview of the housing market and housing policy issues. Focusing on rented housing, as to what housing should be, which is the basis of life and is closely related to welfare in an aging society with a declining birthrate.

<Learning Objectives>
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:understand how the rental housing market has responded to social changes such as household composition, how policies have supported it, and how policies should be changed as the population declines.

<Learning activities outside of classroom>
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.

<Grading Criteria /Policy>
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Short reports: 50%, in class contribution: 50%
