Outline (in English)

【outline & Object】
Social work has a multifaceted view of the relationship between people and their environment (society). Therefore, in social work research, it is important to capture various phenomena in contact between people and their environment (society) and to carefully examine them.
In this course, we will examine the content, methods, process, and outcomes of social work in various fields, utilizing social work theories from micro to macro and various theories in peripheral fields.
The course will examine contemporary social issues and the state of social work's response to them, with a focus on the genealogy of critical social work.
The significance of "case studies" in social work research will also be discussed.

【Goal】
・To contextualize and re-explain one's own practice and activities.
・To apply social work frameworks and theories to specific practices and social activities, and to review them objectively.
・To examine social work theories that respond to contemporary social problems.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
・A basic understanding of social work theory is desirable.
・Literature and materials will be introduced as necessary, so please study them.
・The standard preparation and review time for this class is 4 hours each time.

【Grading Criteria/Policies】
Commitment to the class: Presentation of discussion materials and participation in the discussion (70%) 
Post-lecture report: (30%)
