Outline (in English)

The theme of this seminar is "Technology and Innovation Management in Society." Innovation is defined as creative destruction. The critical aspect of capturing innovation is not merely implementing radical technology but also offering new value to society, then realizing an economic benefit. Recently, social values have been changing, and radical technologies are rising. That stimulates firms' innovation activities. In seminar 1, we aim to understand basic concepts of innovation and issues on innovation policy.
The goals of this course are to acquire basic knowledge of innovation, innovative minds, logical thinking, presentation/discussion skills, and teamwork. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
