Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
This course is designed to study design technologies of water environment based on the concept of conservation, regeneration, and creation of the natural environment in waters. Considering that the water system serves as water resources and habitat for various aquatic lives, and that it frequently causes severe hydrological disasters, students will learn science and technology that are needed for sustainable management of water systems. Showing examples of hydro-environmental issues that occur along river channels and coasts, in lakes and reservoirs, within catchments, one can learn technologies for making countermeasures against the issues and develop one's ability to make eco-hydraulic design of water systems.
(Learning Objectives)
Assuming that the natural and social environment will continue to change on a global scale, the goal is to acquire the necessary scientific and technological knowledge to create a sustainable water environment system.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
In preparation for presentations and question-and-answer sessions, students should collect information from literature and books according to the theme of the lesson plan. The standard time for preparation and review for this class is 2 hours each.
(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Grades will be evaluated based on attendance status, practice report (50 points allotted), general discussion and its report (50 points allotted).
