Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
Housing is the closest environment to our lives. Therefore, it can be said that housing programs = the ways of social being of housing reflect and sometimes push forward people’s lives in conjunction with changes in society. In this class, we will learn about how housing programs have changed in Japanese society from the viewpoints of "housing as a place of living", "housing as a target of consumption", and "housing in an urban environment". And we will discuss forward housing and our life.
【Learning Objective】
The goal of this class is to learn to perceive architecture in relation to various matters, such as people's lives, social values and urban space, taking housing as the subject matter.
Furthermore, students should be able to consider the meaning and value of architecture and urban space from both the substantive aspect and the imaginative aspect shared by society.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
No special preparation for the class is required. However, the group work presentations will require about two hours of preparatory work.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
in-class contribution and short report 50%, final assignment with group work 25%. contribution to final presentation 25%
