Outline (in English)
In this program during the summer vacation, students will participate in international workshops held overseas or domestically. The purpose is to develop design ability to solve given problems, centering on discussions in English, within groups with different social environments, climates, and values.
[Learning Objectives]
This course is not just a language training, but the main goal is to acquire the ability to summarize results through discussions in English. Another important goal is to visit the representative architecture and urban space of the workshop venue and deepen knowledge through actual experience of the connection between the uniqueness of the space and its cultural background. In the case of domestic events, it is necessary to learn about the history and present of architecture and cities in participating countries.
[Learning activities outside of classroom]
According to instructions from the instructor and the workshop organization. In addition, since communication skills in English are essential, prior language study is important.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
[Grading Criteria /Policy]
We will comprehensively evaluate the preliminary survey report, workshop report, and presentation at the post-event debriefing session.

主に夏季休業期間を利用して、海外あるいは国内で開催される国際ワークショップに参加し、異なる社会環境や風土、価値観をもつグループの中で、英語によるディスカッションを軸に、与えられた課題を解決するデザイン能力を養う。
到達目標Goal
この授業は単なる語学研修ではなく、英語によるディスカッションを通して成果物をまとめる能力の習得が主な到達目標となる。その他にもワークショップ開催地の代表的な建築や都市空間を訪れ、その空間の固有性とその文化的背景の結びつきについて実体験によって造詣を深めることも重要な目標となる。国内開催の場合は参加国の建築・都市の歴史と現在を学ぶことが求められる。

・AB期にワークショップ開催要領、旅程計画書を指導教員に提出し、認定を得たもののみ授業の対象とする。
・ワークショップに先立って、開催地の建築・都市についてリサーチを行い、事前研究報告書を作成する。
・ワークショップ実施日数は実質5日以上（35時間以上）とする。
・ワークショップ終了後に成果報告書を提出すると共に複数教員が参加する合同報告会にて発表を行う。報告会に参加する教員全員から承認を得ることで単位認定される。
