Outline (in English)

The main theme of this lecture is to learn about the historical background on basic properties of materials used for concrete and to acquire the basic concept of design of mix proportion considering various properties required for construction or design of the concrete structures. Additionally, students learn the basic knowledge of various properties such as properties of fresh concrete, properties of hardened concrete and durability of concrete after mixing these materials.
Learning Objectives
The learning goal is to learn the historical background of the main materials used in the construction of concrete structures, as well as the basic knowledge of the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of these materials for use. Furthermore, in addition to learning the basic concepts of material design for these materials, the goal of this course is to understand the freshness and hardening characteristics of concrete, to understand durability and deterioration phenomena, and to acquire the techniques on concrete mix design.
