Outline (in English)

Course Outline: This course provides students with the ability to visualize and examine the characteristics of the city in which we live and the issues that the city faces by using geospatial data. For this purpose, students will analyze geospatial data using geographic information systems (GIS) and develop the ability to derive relationships, patterns, and trends in the information.

Learning Objectives:Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can visualize, analyze, combine, and share various information with "location" as a key. Students will learn the framework and process of understanding things geographically and spatially in the "city" where we live by overlaying data on various phenomena surrounding our society and expressing them on a map.

Learning activities outside of classroom:The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each. In particular, students are encouraged to deepen their understanding before the next class if they do not have a sufficient understanding of the subject matter at the end of the class.

Grading Criteria /Policy: The evaluation will be based on a quiz (20%), a report assignment (30%), a thematic diagram (40%), and a group discussion (10%).
