Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
Students will deepen the perspective thorough the examples and case studies based on the knowledge of modern architecture, city planning and modern city theory in Architecture Design Theory-Ⅰ. From the professor’s view which got various experiences, students can learn how to develop the more practical approach and thinking ability.

【Learning Objectives】
Modern society is changing at a dizzying pace, with a declining birthrate, an aging population, an information-oriented society, and new infectious diseases becoming global pandemics in an instant. As we are forced to change many values, such as the nature of communities in urban and rural areas, daily life, work styles, and learning in schools, our goal is to broaden our own design methods and deepen our thinking about design by learning about practical approaches.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Reference books will be introduced in class. Interested students are encouraged to purchase and study the books.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Grading will be 60% for the report and 40% for class work.
