Outline (in English)
[Outline]
The course will be offered until the 2019 academic year under the old curriculum and will not be offered from the 2020 academic year under the new curriculum. However, the first half of the Urban Architectural History Studio class will be used as a replacement course for students who have taken the course in previous years.
Students will learn about the origins of architecture and cities through history. Students will learn how to decipher architecture and cities by viewing architecture as a component of cities through the works of cities, architecture, and architects in Tokyo, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Scandinavia, India, Sri Lanka, Bali, Mexico, Brazil, and other countries.

It is important to actively engage in discussions and presentations and to communicate well with members of the group. In addition, the achievement goal is to be able to accurately express what you have researched. The goal is also to make a wide range of discoveries about specific towns and architecture through observation and establishment.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
歴史を通して、建築と都市の成り立ちを学ぶ。東京、エジプト、ギリシア、イタリア、北欧、インド、スリランカ、バリ、メキシコ、ブラジルなどを都市や建築や建築家の作品を通して、建築を都市の構成要素として捉え、建築と都市を解読する手法を学ぶ。
到達目標Goal
議論や発表に積極的に取り組み、メンバーとコミュニケーションをうまくとることが重要である。また、研究した内容が的確に表現されることが到達目標となる。また具体的な街や建築を、観察と定着を通して、幅広い発見を得ることを目標にする。

本講では、前半（１～７回）に都市空間の解読手法を学び、後半（８～１４回）で建築レベルでの都市組織の解読手法を学習する。授業は、担当教員による講義と、その内容を踏まえた演習を行う。また、演習にはグループを形成で行うものがある。演習では、古地図や図面を用いて、東京などの実際のフィールドを対象として行う。
