Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
 Architectural planning is a normative theory of architectural design, which is based on various decision-making principles such as human dimensions, motion characteristics, perception, psychology, cultural context, communication, work efficiency, and social systems.
 This course is intended for beginning architectural designers to understand the relationship between architectural space and its decision-making principles using familiar examples, and to learn the basics of applying decision-making principles appropriately in architectural design.

[Learning Objectives]
To understand the intention of the space from design examples and to acquire the skills to envision the activities that will take place in the space.
To understand the principles and rationale that define architectural space.
To acquire the basis for applying the principles of decision making appropriately in architectural design.
To acquire the viewpoint to think about the connection between society and culture and architectural design through the derivation of design rationale.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
In order to deepen your understanding of the keywords and building examples introduced in class, it is necessary to organize and grasp your knowledge by doing your own research after class.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
