Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
In this course students will learn about historical European architecture and cities. Architecture is an expression of the culture and society of each period and region, and an understanding the historical background and transitional flow of developments/changes/diversification allows one to obtain a multifaceted point of view. Studying the (past) path travelled by our forerunners is how we build our future.
【Learning Objectives】
The goals of this course are to A, B.
-A. Students be able to understand Western architectural styles and identify the period and region in which they were built.
-B. Students will also be able to understand the background of the formation of the style.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Final grade will be calculated according to the following process Mid-term report (30%), term-end examination (70%).
