Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The objective of this course is to learn measurement techniques that are necessary in hydrospheric- and geo-environmental engineering. By graphically displaying and analyzing experimental data based on theoretical background, students will understand theories and mechanisms involved in the phenomena. The results should be briefly and properly reported in a paper so that students enrich their understanding of environmental systems in the hydrosphere and geosphere.
(Learning Objectives)
Having a correct understanding of the purpose and methods of experiments, students extend and develop their ability to work on experiments in cooperation with group members (Goals G and I). Students also develop the ability to apply scientific thinking and knowledge in properly summarizing the experimental results in reports by appropriately relating the results to specialized knowledge that they have acquired so far (Goals E and H).
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend one hour to understand the course content.
(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Grading will be decided based on the students' performance of experiments and the quality of students' reports in hydrospheric field (50%) and geo-environmental field (50%).
