Outline (in English)
Course Outline: This course is an introduction to cognitive linguistics and construction grammar. We will focus on grammatically exceptional expressions or extended constructions in Japanese, and try to locate them in the networks of our linguistic knowledge.
Learning Objectives: The objectives of this course are (1) to acquire the ability to differentiate normal (grammatical) expressions and grammatically extended expressions, and (2) to situate the latter expressions in the networks of our linguistic knowledge.
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend 4 hours to understand the course content.
Grading Criteria/Policy: Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: term-end report (50%), short reports (30%), in-class contribution (20%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
認知言語学・構文文法の観点から、日本語文法について考え直すことを目的とする。授業の前半は認知言語学の基本的な概念を学び、中盤では分析事例について学ぶ。後半では、学習した概念が言語分析にどのように利用されているのかを学ぶ。
到達目標Goal
意味や文法における様々な「拡張・逸脱表現」について、(1)そのような表現のどの部分が「拡張・逸脱」であるのかを理解することと、(2)そのような「拡張・逸脱」が生まれたプロセスや動機付けについて、認知言語学の観点から分析・説明できるようになること、の2点が到達目標である。

▼基本的には講義形式で進めるが、ずっと受身で話を聞くだけではなく受講生にも積極的に考えてもらいたいので、様々なトピックについて議論を行うこともある。
