Outline (in English)

Course Outline: Learning the history of Japanese literature from the medieval (late 12th to 16th c.) to early modern (17th to early 19th c.) times in various genres.
Learning Objectives: The goal of this course is to learn about each genre of the literature of the time, understanding them in the flow of their history.
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Writing a reaction paper after every class in 10 minutes. In addition, 3 short reports are required.
Grading Criteria/Policy: Reaction paper (40%), short reports (60%).
