Outline (in English)

In the course of International Finance II, students will learn the history and current status of international finance, starting with the international gold standard, based on their understanding of International Finance I. Specifically, this lecture will trace the evolution of the international monetary system, including the international gold standard, the Bretton Woods system, and the floating exchange rate system, and will cover topics such as currency crises, currency unification, and global imbalances. The goal of this lecture is to understand the nature of financial globalization that is currently underway. Students are expected to read reference books in advance and prepare a mid-term report for the class as study outside of class time. It is also helpful to keep up with daily news related to international finance. Evaluation will be based on the mid-term report (40%) and the final exam (60%).
