Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
To collect human attitudes, psychology, and values as scientific data, we have four methods: survey, observation, experimentation, and testing. This course focuses on the survey, especially the questionnaire survey method. Students will learn processes from planning questionnaires to conducting surveys practically through lectures and practical training. In addition, they will acquire skills of analyzing and interpreting the data and presenting the results.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
(1)acquire basic research procedures using the questionnaire survey method,
(2)analyze questionnaire data by using statistical software, and
(3)summarize the data in papers and present the results to the students.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
In class, students work together in groups to create questionnaires, analyze the data and prepare for the presentation. Therefore, students are expected to prepare for each class, including searching for previous studies and reading relevant papers. This class’s standard preparation and review time is 1 hour a week, respectively.
【Grading Criteria】
Grades are based on (1) class activities (30%), (2) presentations and assignments (30%), and (3) a term paper (40%).
