Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
In this class, we will take up the themes of perception, object recognition, attention, memory, knowledge, and thought, and learn about the basic knowledge of human perception and cognitive functions and their disorders.

[Learning Objectives]
By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to:
1) Outline the mechanisms of human sensation and perception and their disorders.
2) Outline the mechanisms of human cognition and thought, and their disorders.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
Reading through the material in advance as preparatory study will help you understand the class content better.
After the class, review the material and ask questions to the class instructor or read related books if you are interested in the material to deepen your understanding.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is two hours each.

[Grading Criteria /Policies]
Evaluation will be made on the basis of the reaction papers submitted after each class (25%) and the final exam (75%).
