Outline (in English)
This is a once-a-week English course where students build the basis for communication skills in English in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
The objective of this course is to deepen students’ knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through English reading texts and audio and visual materials. Students will understand the basic concept of the SDGs, various targets in 17 different fields of the SDGs, and figures and facts regarding SDG-related global issues.
Another objective is to enhance basis for communication skills in English.
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Students should expect 1.5 hours or more of homework and study time outside class.
Final grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Final Presentation: 20%, Mini-Presentation: 10%, Participation Portfolio: 20%, Quiz: 20%, Vocabulary List: 10%, Quick-Write: 10%, Speaking Task : 10%

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
持続可能な開発目標（SDGs)」と関連する様々な社会問題についての知識を英語で身に着ける。身近な話題や個人的に関心のある話題について、英文を読み、英語でディスカッションやプレゼンテーションができる能力を習得する。
秋学期に開講される本授業では教科書の後半部分を使用する。したがって，春学期に基礎英語Ａを履修していることが望ましい。
到達目標Goal
SDGs や関連する社会問題について英語で情報を適切に理解できるようになること。
英語のコミュニケーション能力を伸ばすこと。

指定テキストを用いて、ペアワーク・グループワークを積極的に取り入れながらアクティブラーニング形式での授業を行います。指定テキスト以外の教材をデータ上で使用してもらいます。そのため、各自でデバイスを毎回の授業に持ってくるようにしてください。課題等に対するフィードバックについては，Google Classroomのコメント欄等で対応します。定期的にGoogle Classroomにアクセスし、教員からのフィードバックを確認するようにしてください。授業内でGoogle Classroomの使い方を説明します。
