Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
The objective of this course is , following the course "Basic English A," to develop students' basic English communication skills The skills covered in class include reading comprehension skills, critical thinking skills, and presenting skills on current events and topics of personal interest. The course will require students to speak out and state their own opinions in English.

【Learning Objectives】
Students will be asked to read the texts about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and related issues, then to make a presentation with appropriately designed visual aids (Powerpoint slides) so that students can develop their presentation skills in English.
Besides, in each class, students are asked to complete various activities including writing scripts, peer reviews, and group discussions.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will be expected to complete the required assignments. Spending two hours to prepare and review the course content every week is ideal.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Grading will be based on in class contribution (40%), short reports (30%), and quizzes (30%). Students who miss 4 or more classes will be automatically disqualifed. The proper document is required for excused absence.
