Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
You will learn the findings and methods of psychological research, which uses experiments and questionnaire surveys to understand the mechanisms of the development and maintenance of psychological disorders and psychological problems.
In this course, we will examine research papers written in Japanese on experiments conducted on university students.
The purpose of this course is to acquire the content, methods, and attitudes of clinical psychology research through empirical psychological research methods.

[Learning Objectives]
1) Learn the findings and methods of empirical research in psychology and understand them as they relate to clinical psychology.
2) To be able to outline the mechanisms of the development and maintenance of psychological disorders and psychological problems.
3) Students will be able to acquire the basics of how to conduct research.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
Presenters are required to prepare their presentations in advance.
After the class, students are expected to review their papers and resumes.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

[Grading Criteria /Policies]
Students will be evaluated comprehensively as follows: in-class contribution(60%), presentation(40%).
