Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the principles, theory, history, and policy development of social welfare and to deepen understanding of the question of what social welfare is.

[Learning Objectives]
The course provides an overview of the history and policies of social welfare, and acquires theory and knowledge of social welfare.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 30 minutes each. Students are expected to acquire the ability to think by reading relevant literature from topics of interest based on the lecture content. References will be introduced in the lecture as appropriate.

[Grading Criteria /Policy]
(1)Evaluation method: Reaction paper (40%), Report assignment (60%)

Evaluation of understanding of each lecture content.

<Report Assignment>
Students are required to submit a report (1000-3000 words) on a topic of interest to them from the lecture content after reading at least one reference book.
The following points will be evaluated on the report assignment.
--The degree of understanding of the theme
--Whether or not you have expressed your views logically.
--Whether or not the format of the report is properly followed.
--Whether or not references are included in the report.
