Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
In this course, students will develop their communication skills in German in anticipation of a short stay in a German-speaking country and friendships with people from German-speaking countries. Students will also learn about the cultural and historical elements of Germany.
【Learning Objectives】
To learn the basic grammar, vocabulary, features of expressions, and correct pronunciation used in each theme, while acquiring the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a well-balanced manner, and to be able to use them as one's own expressions.
To be able to respect the values of people with different cultural and historical backgrounds through the study of German.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
As preparation for the class, students will study the meaning and pronunciation of important vocabulary used in the theme using the application, and will be given practice print assignments to review the class content. The standard preparation and review time for this class is approximately one hour each.
【成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria /Policy)】
A quiz (hearing and written) will be given at the end of each topic. There will be an oral exam at the end of the term.
Grades will be based on a comprehensive evaluation of homework and class assignments (30%), in-class written tests (35%), and in-class oral exams and presentations (35%).
If the number of absences without a valid reason exceeds 30% of the total number of classes, the student will not be graded.
