Outline (in English)

In this course, we will overview variety of environmental treaties, understand their basic structures and examine how Nations have responded to environmental issues.
In addition, through specific environmental cases, we will consider what should be protected and what actions are necessary to solve environmental problems.
This course will be given according to the lecture schedule, but the content and order of the topics may be changed according to the interests of the students. 
By the end of the course, students should be able to understand as follows;
・To be able to consider international environmental issues from a legal perspective
・To be able to grasp the overall picture of each environmental treaty, understand its background, characteristics, problems to be solved, and remaining issues, and to be able to explain them
・To be able to present own views on international environmental issues based on legal basis.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content including completed the required assignments after each class meeting.
Final grade will be calculated according to the following process, Term-end examination(80%), short assignment(20%).
