Outline (in English)

(Course outline)We will consider regional development in Nakatsu City, Usa City, Bungotakada City and surrounding areas in the northern part of Oita Prefecture from the viewpoints of history, environment, folklore.
(Learning Objectives)1) Understand the residents' consciousness around Kappa and Kabutogani in Nakatsu City. 2) We will interview at the city hall about nakatsu city's tourism policy. 3) Learn about yabakei tourism. 4) Understand the history of Usa Hachimangu Shrine and learn about sightseeing. 5) Understand the showa town development of Bungotakada City.
(Method)Field research is conducted outside the classroom, and the process of this field research is as follows.
Day 1: Meet at Nakatsu. Interacted with a citizen's group holding an observation meeting of beetle crabs on the Nakatsu Coast. See Nakatsu Castle, Yukichi Fukuzawa Memorial Museum, Kappa's Tomb, and Wabi Certificate in Nakatsu City.
Day 2: Visit Nakatsu City Hall, then go to Yabakei to see the sightseeing situation, and finally observe the Kappa Festival at Kumohachimangu Shrine.
Day 3: We went to Usa Hachimangu Shrine and observed Monzen town. After that, we observed the showa-era town development of Bungotakada City. Dissolved at Bungotakada Bus Terminal.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)Pre-study is essential for topics related to this field research. In addition, I ask you to submit a report after the completion of this field research. The preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
(Grading Criteria /Policy)Attendance on all schedules is a prerequisite for the evaluation of grades. It is evaluated by a positive attitude to the class (50%) and a report (50%) that is required to be submitted after the fact.
