Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The aim of this course is to help students acquire not only the intermediate or higher Chinese reading comprehension, but also high level Japanese translation ability.
Students will mainly read the news or critique in Chinese newspapers or magazines.
(Learning Objectives)
At the end of the course, students should be able to efficiently read news articles and critiques using dictionaries and the Internet. Students are also expected to improve their ability to translate into high-level Japanese.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to translate exercises for reading comprehension(in the 2nd to 4th classes)、to read and translate specified news articles (in the 5th to 13th classes). Your study time will be one or two hours.
(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Final grade will be calculated according to the following process: Translation of basic exercises (20%) and reading comprehension test conducted at the end of the semester(80%)
