Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
The aim of this course is to make progress of German language skills acquired by staying and studying in Germany or in Switzerland and so on. The course is especially focused on reading German texts. On one hand we'll practice to read various types of texts rapidly without using dictionaries in order to be able to grasp the main points of the text. On the other hand we read more complicated texts precisely by paying attention to the structures of sentences as well as cases (nominative, genitive, dative and accusative).
【Learning Objectives】
The goals of this course are to make progress of German language skills acquired by staying and studying in Germany, Austria, Switzerland or so, and to gain broad cultural understanding.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
contribution to each class meeting: 40%, short reports : 40%, examinations: 20%
