Outline (in English)

This course is an international sport business seminar in the United States. The goals of this course are to learn (1) the theoretical and practical bases of professional and collegiate sport businesses and (2) understand cultural, ethnic, and racial diversity in the American society. This course includes on-campus lectures and practical activities in the U.S. Before each on-campus lecture, students are expected to read relevant articles and book chapters. Grading will be decided based on short report (10%), short exam (10%), and final report (80%). Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to synthesize and apply theories, concepts, and practices related to American sport businesses and develop ideas that are useful, appropriate, and novel in Japan.
