Outline (in English)
This course is designed to enhance students’ reading abilities and their vocabularies by reading a variety of articles. Students will have opportunities to learn how to write English with proper grammar.

さまざまな話題について書かれた長文を読み、読解力、幅広い語彙を身につけることを目指す。
また英語のライティングに慣れ、文法的に正しい英文を書く方法を学ぶ。
到達目標Goal
CEFR A2~ B1程度の長文を正確に読めるようになること。
英語話者がよく使う自然な語句や言い回しを理解し、ライティングやスピーキングで使えるようになること。

すべて英文で書かれたテキストを用い、文法の説明であっても英語で理解することを目指します。ひとつのUnitの内容が多いので、1Unitにつき授業2回分をかけて学習します。リーディング、ライティングの他、関連するビデオを見たり、グループワーク、ディスカッションなども行います。
対面授業を基本としますが、授業内容によってオンライン授業、オンデマンド授業も取り入れていく予定です。

本授業の準備学習・復習時間は合わせて 1 時間を標準とします。テキストには必ず授業前に目を通し、単語などを調べておくこと。テキスト音声をダウンロードし、事前にテキストを見ながら聞いておくのが望ましい。

参考書References
紙の辞書か電子辞書を必ず用意すること。スマートフォンでの辞書閲覧は特に理由がない限り認めない。辞書の種類などについては教場で指示する。
成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
ライティング課題などを含む平常点40％、テスト60％をあわせて総合的に評価する。
学生の意見等からの気づきChanges following student comments
すべて英語で書かれたテキストを用いるため、理解が難しかったとの意見があった。英語が苦手な学生のことも考慮し、できるだけわかりやすい説明を心がけていきたい。
学生が準備すべき機器他Equipment student needs to prepare
Google classroomを利用するため、可能な学生には授業へパソコンの持参を求めることがある。
