Outline (in English)

【Course Outline】In this course, we will focus on climate change. Climate change is more than just the global warming issue. For example, extreme weather condition, biodiversity and energy issues are also associated with climate change. Since climate change is complex, there is no one policy solution. This course deals with policies and actions needed to achieve a sustainable society. It also enhances the development of students’ skill in debating, writing and presentation.

【Learning Objectives】
At the end of the course, students are expected to 1) have a wide view on climate change, 2) understand the economic logic of climate change policies and 3) propose relevant climate change policies needed.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapters from the references. Your required study time is at least three hours for each class meeting.

【Grading Criteria/Policies】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end report: 40%, presentation 50%, in class contribution: 10%
