Outline (in English)

In this seminar, from the viewpoint of “SDGs”, we will think about the age of covid-19 and “Sustainable community”. If it says concretely, we will focus on the impact of pandemic on sustainability, the image of new society and the agenda to change , while referring to new practices, so-called social innovation and social design. The purpose of this seminar is for students to understand local sustainability at the turning point of modern civilization and to learn about the design of social practice further.

At the end of the course, students are expected to achieve the following goals:
(1)Acquire knowledge of sustainable community.
(2)Understand issues related to covid-19.
(3)Acquire problem-finding and problem-solving skills.
(4)Acquire academic skills for research.
(5)Acquire the ability to plan social design.

Students need to prepare and review each session by using textbooks and related materials, and to work on some assignments. Preparatory and review time for this seminar are 2 hours each.

Your overall grade in this class will be decided based on the following:
Active class participation:70%, Assignments :30%
