Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
Investigates various aspects(e.g. visiting showplaces and feeding animals)of the city of Edo, and we will think about the characteristics of them through literature reviews and field surveys.
(Learning Objectives)
The goals of this course are to acquisition of reading comprehension of historical materials, ability to solve problems, and progress of practical Japanese environmental history research.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Reports:40%,Presentation:20%,Participation:30%,and in-class contribution:10%
