Outline (in English)

Seminar on social welfare, social policy and civil society in Japan and other countries.
In this seminar, we will examine how attempts have been made to support the lives of the socially disadvantaged, mainly in Europe and Japan, by comparing the circumstances of each region.
Students will be expected to prepare and review the materials introduced in each lecture. The standard preparation and review time for this class is two hours each time.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Participation in seminar discussions (30%), contribution in group work, debates, etc. (30%), report at the end of the fall semester (40%)
