Outline (in English)

Theme: "Cultural landscape" of the sea and remote islands and ecotourism
Based on the concept of "cultural landscape", the possibility of ecological region formation and human formation making full use of the isolated natural and cultural assets of remote islands and beaches, Japanese eco-tourism, tourism culture, eco-museum etc. perspective While linking, we conduct case studies taking advantage of surveys and experiences at "Okinawa island seminar camp" (Yaeyama Islands) where we plan and implement during the summer vacation.

Goal
To understand the contents of "Environmental Representation Theory I II" through field surveys and experiences during the seminar camp. In addition, this stimulus will motivate you to plan fieldwork independently, and at the same time, you will be able to find a connection with your own local experience from stories in various fields, not limited to Okinawa, and share individual research results.

Work to be done outside of class
Students should collects preliminary knowledge and local information to prepare for the training camp (mainly in the spring semester). Useful information exchange between seminar students outside the class (classroom). Voluntary visits in the vicinity, etc. The standard preparatory study and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

Grading criteria
Presentation content and year-end dissertation 65%, participation attitude and cooperation / contribution within the organization such as seminars 35%.
