Outline (in English)

[Course Outline]
In this course, participants will receive lectures on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are international goals for the year 2030, from experts who are working to realize them in a variety of fields. Through these lectures, participants will deepen their understanding of the SDGs and gain a foothold to contribute to the realization of the concept of a sustainable society in the future, using their own field of interest as a starting point. This year's seminar will mainly focus on the leaders of "civil society".

[Learning Objectives]
The SDGs, which have a global scope and include a variety of goals, some of which are expected to be difficult to achieve, are often thought of as being primarily the work of international organizations, governments, and NGOs/NPOs. However, the private sector and citizens are recognized as important players in the SDGs. The goals of this seminar are: 1) to have basic knowledge of the SDGs and to be able to explain them to others, and 2) to cultivate an awareness of being a party to the SDGs so that one can see the various issues listed in the SDGs as one's own.

[Learning Activities outside of classroom]
Preparation: Students are expected to have their own prior knowledge of the topics to be covered in the next week and beyond, and to prepare questions and opinions.
Review: Students are expected to review the handouts distributed in the lecture and the contents of the lecture to further deepen your understanding and interest.
The standard preparation and review time for this lecture is 2 hours each.

[Grading Criteria/Policy]
Contribution points (participation attitude, content of comment papers, remarks in class, etc.): 40%.
Test or report: 60% (determined according to the infection status of the new coronavirus)
In principle, students who are absent without permission more than four times will not receive a grade.
