Outline (in English)

<Course outline>
This course provides an interdisciplinary introduction to environmental science in a chemical perspective. Central theme is the interaction between life and the environment. The course is suitable for students who plan further study in this field, also suitable for students without basic knowledge of environmental chemistry.

<Learning Objectives>
At the end of the course, students are expected to understand basic theory of chemistry and biochemistry for "Environmental chemistry I" , "Environmental chemistry II" and "Environmental chemistry III".

<Learning activities outside of classroom>
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

<Grading Criteria /Policies>
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end examination:60%, Short reports:20%,
in class contribution:20%
