Outline (in English)

[Seminar Outline]
This is the second year seminar for authoring a doctoral dissertation.

[Learning Objectives]
The objectives of this seminar for second-year doctoral students are: 1) to conduct research (literature review and field survey) necessary for writing a doctoral dissertation, 2) to set a research theme and review research questions based on the results of the research, and 3) to prepare an appropriate outline for a doctoral dissertation. In addition, students will write a peer-reviewed paper to be published in an academic journal.

[Learning Activities outside of classroom]
References for each session will be selected in consultation with the seminar participants. It is recommended that you carefully read the texts of these references (mainly prior research), consider your own research theme, and prepare for the course.
The standard preparation and review time for this session is 2 hours each.

[Grading Criteria/Policy]
The overall grade will be evaluated based on the following balance. Proactive participation and contribution in the seminar 60%, progress in preparation for writing a doctoral dissertation 40%.
