Outline (in English)

Through writing a literature review and conducting field research, this course is designed for students to complete their master's degree thesis. Students are expected to conduct both archival research and fieldwork outside classroom in addition to writing up their thesis. Students will be graded based on participation in class discussions and assignments (30%) as well as their thesis (70%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives

学生は修士１年生時に作成したリサーチプロポーザルをもとに、必要な文献調査および現地調査を実行し、修士論文を完成させる。授業では、文献レビュー、現地調査をもとにした民族誌の記述について発表および意見交換を行い、学生は授業で得たフィードバックをもとに修士論文の完成を目指す。

到達目標Goal

学生の到達目標は、１）修士論文のテーマを絞る、２）テーマに関連する学術文献の講読し、先行研究レビューを作成する、３）エスノグラフィーの研究手法を学ぶ、４）事前調査を含む現地調査を実施する、５）リサーチプロポーザルを完成させることである。
