【Course outline】
This lecture aims to learn the historical origins of basic concepts in public philosophy such as "publicness" and "civil society" and their significance in contemporary public philosophy.

【Learning Objectives】
The goals of this course are to understand the basic concepts in public philosophy such as "publicness" and "civil society", and the historical-philosophical significance of important concepts in public philosophy such as "nation", "community", "individual", and "market".

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will be expected to read the relevant part of the text in advance and think about what you will say in class.


【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following .

Short report: 40%, Term-end report : 40%, class contribution: 20%
