Outline (in English)

Gender is one of the most important concepts in social science discourse. In the lecture, I will critically discuss political phenomena, events and institutions through gender lens.

Course outline
This course introduces gender concept, gender policy and gender issues in Japanese society
to students taking this course.

Learning Objectives
The goals of this course are to understand Japanese gender issues and develop the ability to
think critically about social phenomena.

Lecture/Exercise（two-credits）
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

Grading Criteria /Policies
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following Term-end examination: 50%、Short reports : 30%、in class contribution: 20%
