Outline (in English)

【Course outline and Objectives】
The students are:
1. to understand the framework and procedures to analyze the economic effects of public policies,
2. to discuss several examples of economic policies in Japan and other countries, on their objectives and scope,
3. to understand policy/project evaluation methods.

As the goal, the students are to understand the basic framework of the policy evaluation, based on the public enoconomics, including the cost-benefit analysis. In addition, the students are to be accustomed with the procedures of policy evaluation.

Participation in the class (20%), final exam (80%, The exam may be replaced with submission of research reports).
