Outline (in English)

Environmental problems are physical, chemical and biological consequences and reactions on natural ecosystems caused by human activities. In order to understand "what is happening" and "what should be done", scientific knowledge is indispensable. In this lecture, students will learn the basics of science regarding mechanisms and countermeasures of environmental problems such as climate change, ozone layer protection, acid rain and resource problems such as energy and freshwater. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each. Evaluation will be based on the final exam (100%) or report (100%).
