Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This course aims to question our common sense related to international development cooperation and to discuss the superior/inferior "culture" behind it.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
1) to explain the concept of the technical terms covered at the class
2) to read the relevant literature critically
3) to express her/his opinion logically reflecting the literature or other opinions
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant literature assigned beforehand, and after the class, students will be expected to have completed the required assignments. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
-Reading assignments and presentation at the class meeting: 60%
-Short reports after each class meeting: 20%
-Class contribution: 20%
