Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The purpose of this course is to clarify how time is expressed in literary works (especially waka and haiku) and to elucidate the philosophical meaning of time for Kuki's philosophy.

(Learning Objectives)
At the end of the course, students are expected to understand the Japanese aesthetic.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.
(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following Oral presentation: 50%、discussant : 30%、in class contribution: 20%.
