Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The aim of this course is to help students acquire an understanding of the fundamental ideas and theories of macroeconomics, including short-run and long-run theories. It also enhances the development of students' skill in reading introductory economics papers and in explaining actual economic phenomena using appropriate technical terms.

(Learning Objectives)
By the end of this course, students should be able to explain the following:
(1)the differences and relationships between supply and demand, nominal and real, and short-term and long-term,
(2)how GDP, interest rates, and prices are determined,
(3)the effects of government macroeconomic policies,
(4)the differences between Keynesian and neoclassical approaches to long-term economic growth.
(5)actual economic phenomena using basic concepts and terms of macroeconomics.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
(1)Read the economic news on a daily basis and raise any questions you may have, so that you can ask them on the reflection sheet after the next class.
(2)Summarize and deepen your understanding of the class. Work on the assignments given in class.

(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Grading will be decided on in class contribution(40%) and term-end examination(60%).
