Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
The seminar explores the history of the cross-border movements of people, goods, ideas, capital, information, and symbols so that students can develop the ability to analyze social, economic, political, and cultural issues cross-culturally and interracially.
【Learning objectives】
By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to: 1) conduct a critical review and analysis of previous research, 2) interpret primary sources in the political, economic, social, and cultural contexts in which they were written, and 3) collect historical materials on issues of their interest and write a research paper.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will be expected to: 1) have read the assigned texts and prepared with questions, comments, and opinions, 2) prepare for group presentations, and 3) conduct individual research for their research projects.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Students are expected to spend 4 hours per week working on homework, revision, and assignments. The final grade is determined by presentations (50%) and assignments (50%).
